Switchboard Studios now letting

We just certified practical completion on Switchboard Studios, our latest creative workspace venture with Meanwhile Space. The building – a former Council call centre had been lying empty until JKA helped Waltham Forest Council to secure a grant from the Mayor of London to transform the building. A collection of bright and airy studio spaces at affordable rents for some 28 small businesses, a public-facing cafe and a palm garden have been created just off Blackhorse Lane, in the heart of Waltham Forest’s creative enterprise zone. Just a stone’s throw from the newly opened Walthamstow Wetlands, Switchboard Studios is the next step in this burgeoning scene.

The building – a modernist paragon office building has had it’s original entrance re-instated, neon signage installed and the interior stripped back to its concrete frame. Timber and glass partitions for studios and a distinct colour palette are the hallmarks of the interior design concept. Casual seating in the palm garden in front of the building invites activity to spill out into the public domain.
