The project comprises the refurbishment and extension of three formerly derelict Georgian warehouse buildings with shops in a prominent loccation in the heart of the Whitechapel Conservation Area to create 5 flats, 2 shops and 1 business unit. We were involved in all stages of the project including feasibility, planning, detailed design, tender and managing the complex 4- stage construction process. The spectacular copper roof extension is almost complete and works to the rear building are scheduled to start next year. The re-opening of the shops and the works to the facade have acted as a catalyst encouraging neighbouring shop owners to carry out similar repair works. The remainder of the terrace was recently refurbished in preparation for the Olympics.
