Winner of the Outer London Fund Round Two on behalf of the Harringay Traders Association

Harringay is home to a diverse community with Green Lanes at its heart. The experience of the high street is intensified by a lack of open space. In other parts of London squares, parks and streets have an equal status as sites for communal activities. In Harringay all public life concentrates on Green Lanes, the public space is the street.

Our project proposes 3 actions; delivering an aspirational gateway, renovating independent shops and rethinking public space. Independently each action presents a pockets of change, together they are catalysts in an ambitious plan to undertake lasting improvement works across all scales of the public realm, allowing Green Lanes to celebrate its diversity and remain as a competitive destination with a distinct local identity.
