Our first hotel
Heloise and Gabriel have been working with pupils from Mossbourne Riverside Academy designing and making a series of bug hotels for our project in Clarnico Quay. The project, a collaboration with Carl Turner Architects will test the feasibility for a meanwhile village along a section of the bank of the River Lee. Our client is committed to an inclusive proposal and wants to use the design process to foster relationships between researchers at UCL and Loughborough University, local school children, SMEs, cultural institutions, creative businesses and residents. The bug hotels – some of which tessellate around the trunk of on an old Willow tree and partially attached to a tree in the school playground is an early attempt to build a connection between the school and the site.
