Good Growth funded

JKA supported the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Haringey Council with their funding bids to the Mayoral Good Growth Fund. Haringey in partnership with Fashion Enter won £430k for a new tayloring academy in Woodberry Down. The social enterprise plans to train a new generation of fashion professionals in close association with some of the UKs best known fashion brands. Greenwich was awarded a whooping £2.15m for their ‘Plumstead – Embrace the Change’ project. JKA delivered a spatial vision for the area including improvements to retail and building frontages on Plumstead High Street, public realm improvements, tree planting and the transformation of a disused Victorian power station into a work- and event space, including individual workspaces for 50+ small businesses, an indoor market & deli, an event and circus space, a creche and an open-access wood- and metal workshop. The project will help to ensure that existing communities are socially, economically and physically better integrated with the 2800+ homes now being implemented as part of the adjacent housing zones. RBG regen officers said: ‘Everyone here, from the Leader down, is really, really pleased. It goes without saying that we couldn’t have put such a high quality bid in without all the work you did on it, so a very big thank you to you both and any other members of your team that worked on it.’ Congratulations to Haringey, Fashion Enter and Greenwich! We are very pleased that we were able to support you with your funding bids for these projects which we know will have a transformational effect on local communities.
